Expect to pay more money for a solid wood shutter than you would for one that is comprised of synthetic materials. Wood, however, is timeless and elegant and looks great inside and out. You do have to be prepared to either stain or paint the wooden window house shutters before installation. You will also have to maintain them by re staining them or repainting them periodically.
