Radio frequency identification (RFID) integrated chips are being used more and more in food packaging and becoming more and more helpful to both retailers and consumers alike. Packages with RFID tags embedded in them by the food packaging machines are often referred to as ‘smart packages’. They can provide such things to consumers as product authentication and product security while at the same time providing retailers with valuable product tracking information.
